Richtlinie für gesponserte Inhalte

Wochenbriefing.de is owned and operated by Wochenbriefi Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry) with registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000 (main phone: +356 2138 9009). This Sponsored Content Policy governs all commercial content published on our site and is overseen by Chefredaktör Benjamin Richter. It ensures that every piece of sponsored material is clearly identified, editorially vetted, and distinguished from both regular journalism and other commercial arrangements.

What is sponsored content on Wochenbriefing.de?

Sponsored content is material for which a third party pays us to publish, and which is produced or commissioned by that party. It may be written by the sponsor or by our editorial team under contract, but it is always clearly separated from our independent reporting.

We accept sponsored content only when it is relevant to our audience and does not contradict our journalistic values. Every sponsored piece is reviewed by an editor to ensure it meets basic standards of accuracy and taste. The sponsor has no control over the final version beyond the agreed brief; our editorial team retains final approval.

How is sponsored content labelled?

Every sponsored article, video, or other format is labelled with the word “Sponsored” or “Sponsored content” in a prominent position at the top of the page. The sponsor’s name is also disclosed, and the label is styled differently from standard article categories.

Our labelling rules extend to all platforms: the same disclosure appears in newsletters, social media previews, and any syndicated versions. Readers should never be in doubt about whether they are reading independent journalism or sponsored material. We also include a short disclaimer at the bottom of each sponsored piece explaining that it has been paid for and approved by the sponsor.

How does sponsored content differ from affiliate links?

Affiliate links are commission-based partnerships where we may earn a fee if a reader clicks through and makes a purchase. They are never paid for placement and do not involve the advertiser controlling the content around them. Sponsored content, by contrast, is paid for directly by the sponsor and is published as a distinct piece.

Both arrangements are clearly disclosed, but they serve different commercial functions. Our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure page explains affiliate links in detail. Sponsored content is never disguised as editorial content or linked purely as a promotional vehicle; it is always identified as such and clearly separated from our newsroom output.

Who decides what sponsored content we publish?

Decisions to accept a sponsorship are made jointly by the commercial team and the editorial leadership, ultimately under the authority of Chefredaktör Benjamin Richter. The editorial team has a veto over any sponsored piece that would undermine the credibility or independence of Wochenbriefing.de.

Commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions in our independent reporting. Our Editorial Policy sets out the strict separation between news and sponsored content. No advertiser or sponsor can influence the topics, angle, or conclusions of our regular journalism. All sponsored content is reviewed by a human editor before publication, and fact-checking is applied where relevant, overseen by Vanessa Engels, our Ansvarig för faktagranskning.

How can I enquire about sponsored content opportunities?

To discuss potential sponsored content placements, please contact us at sponsored@wochenbriefing.de. Our commercial team will outline available formats, pricing, and editorial guidelines.

For general enquiries or to report a concern about a specific sponsored piece, you can reach our editorial team via the Contact page. We also invite readers to use the complaints procedure described in our Complaints Procedure if they believe a sponsored piece has been mislabelled or has breached our standards.

Our commitments

  • Every sponsored item will be clearly and consistently labelled as such, with the sponsor’s name disclosed.
  • No sponsored content will ever be presented as independent news or opinion written by our editorial staff without explicit disclosure.
  • Editorial independence is absolute: sponsors cannot influence the content of our regular journalism, and we reserve the right to decline any sponsorship that conflicts with our values.
  • All sponsored content is subject to editorial review and fact-checking where applicable, under the oversight of the Chefredaktör and the fact-checking team.
  • We will promptly correct any errors in sponsored content and will remove or update material if it is found to be misleading, following the same standards set out in our Corrections Policy.
