Who owns Wochenbriefing?
Wochenbriefing (wochenbriefing.de) is wholly owned and operated by Nordklar Media Ltd, a private company registered in Gibraltar under company number C 92009. The company’s registered office is at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000 (Malta Business Registry).
Nordklar Media Ltd is the sole legal entity behind the publication. The company was founded in 2024 with the specific purpose of delivering trustworthy English-language journalism on Swedish affairs. No external shareholders hold a controlling interest, and no political party, government body or lobbying organisation has any ownership stake. Full corporate details are available on request from our registered address.
How is Wochenbriefing funded?
Wochenbriefing generates revenue through a mix of display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. No single revenue stream accounts for more than half of our budget, ensuring that no commercial partner can exert disproportionate influence.
All sponsored or commercial material is clearly labelled as such, and every affiliate link carries a disclosure notice. Our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure page explains the specific mechanisms and our commitments. We do not accept paid placement that disguises itself as editorial content, and commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. Funding details are reviewed quarterly by the managing editor to maintain transparency.
How is editorial independence maintained?
Editorial independence is guaranteed by the publication’s governance structure: no advertiser, sponsor or partner has any say in story selection, content, tone or timing. The chefredaktör (editor-in-chief) holds final authority over all editorial decisions, and that authority is contractually protected from commercial pressure.
Our Editorial Policy and Sponsored Content Policy spell out the boundaries in detail. Staff journalists and editors are bound by a code of conduct that prohibits accepting gifts, favours or direction from outside parties. Any breach is investigated by the chefredaktör and, if necessary, by an independent complaints panel. We also publish an annual transparency report summarising revenue sources and any challenges to editorial independence.
Who is responsible for the publication’s content?
Chefredaktör Benjamin Richter (anders.lindqvist@wochenbriefing.de) is accountable for all editorial standards, publication decisions and corrections. He reports directly to the board of Nordklar Media Ltd but exercises independent editorial judgement as outlined in our governance charter.
Day-to-day oversight is handled by the redaktionschef (newsroom chief), Stefanie Schmid, and by specialised editors for politics, economics, culture and fact‑checking. The full editorial team, including contact details and role descriptions, is listed on our team page. Every article is reviewed by an editor and fact‑checker before publication, and the chefredaktör signs off on any corrections or retractions.
How can I advertise or partner with Wochenbriefing?
Advertising and partnership enquiries should be directed to our commercial team at advertising@wochenbriefing.de or via the contact page. We offer display placements, newsletter sponsorships, sponsored articles (clearly labelled), and content licensing arrangements.
All commercial proposals are evaluated against our editorial independence policy. We do not accept advertising from industries that conflict with our journalistic mission – for example, tobacco, gambling or misleading political campaigns. A full rate card and media kit are available on request, and our privacy policy explains how we handle reader data in relation to advertising.
