Berichtigungspolitik

The responsibility for corrections at Wochenbriefing (wochenbriefing.de) lies with Vanessa Engels, our Ansvarig för faktagranskning, and ultimately with Chefredaktör Benjamin Richter. The site is owned and operated by Wochenbriefi Media Ltd, a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), with registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. We are committed to correcting material errors promptly and transparently, and this policy explains how we handle corrections.

Who is responsible for corrections at Wochenbriefing?

Vanessa Engels, as Ansvarig för faktagranskning, leads our standards desk and oversees all correction procedures from receipt to publication of the correction note. She is responsible for ensuring that every reported error is assessed, investigated, and, if confirmed, corrected clearly and transparently.

Chefredaktör Benjamin Richter retains ultimate editorial authority and is the final decision-maker for disputed or complex correction cases. Together, they uphold the editorial standards that every article must be accurate and, if wrong, corrected with accountability.

How can I report an error?

You can report an error by emailing corrections@wochenbriefing.de. Please include the article URL, a clear description of the suspected error, and any supporting sources if available. You may also use our general contact email info@wochenbriefing.de, but the corrections address ensures your report reaches the standards desk directly.

All reports are acknowledged within 24 hours of receipt. We encourage readers and sources to alert us to mistakes, whether factual, typographical, or relating to omissions. We treat every report seriously and aim to resolve it fairly.

What happens after a correction is reported?

Vanessa Engels and her team review the report against the published article and the supporting evidence. If we identify a material error—meaning a mistake that significantly affects the accuracy, fairness, or completeness of the article—we will correct it and append a correction note at the top or bottom of the article, clearly stating what has been changed and why.

Minor errors, such as typos or formatting issues, may be corrected without a public note, but we still record them internally. The standards desk works closely with the relevant section editor to ensure the correction is made consistently across all platforms (web, newsletter, syndication). If the error involves a quote, source, or key fact, we also review the surrounding context to prevent recurrence.

How quickly will you respond and issue a correction?

We aim to respond to every correction report within one business day. For straightforward material errors, we will publish the correction and update the article within 48 hours. For more complex cases that require additional verification or legal review, we will keep the reporter informed of progress and expected timeline, usually within five business days.

Readers can expect a reply from the standards desk, often with an explanation of our findings and the action taken. If the correction is minor and does not merit a public note, we will still acknowledge the report and explain our decision.

What if I am not satisfied with the handling of my correction report?

If you feel your report has not been addressed adequately, you may escalate it directly to Chefredaktör Benjamin Richter at anders.lindqvist@wochenbriefing.de. He will review the case independently and may request input from Vanessa Engels and the relevant editor. His decision on the appropriate resolution is final.

Alternatively, you can follow our formal complaints procedure, which is outlined in our complaints procedure. We treat all escalations seriously and will explain our final position in writing.

How do we link this policy to our other standards?

This corrections policy is part of our wider commitment to trustworthy journalism. For more detail on how we source and verify information, please see our fact-checking policy. For the principles that guide every editorial decision, read our editorial policy. These policies together govern the accuracy and integrity of everything we publish.

We also encourage readers to consult our sources and standards page for a fuller account of how we gather, check, and present news.
