Who is responsible for handling complaints?
Benjamin Richter, Chefredaktör of Wochenbriefing, is ultimately responsible for all complaints about editorial content. The publication is owned and operated by Wochenbriefi Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), with registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. All complaints are logged and reviewed under his authority.
Wochenbriefing’s editorial independence is guaranteed by the company’s governance structure. No commercial relationship, advertiser, or sponsor may influence the handling of a complaint. The complaints procedure applies only to editorial content published on wochenbriefing.de. For issues related to advertising, affiliate links, or sponsored content, please refer to our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure and Sponsored Content Policy.
How do I submit a complaint?
Complaints should be sent by email to complaints@wochenbriefing.de. Please include the article title or URL, the date of publication, and a clear explanation of what you believe is inaccurate, unfair, or in breach of our editorial standards. You may also attach supporting evidence or sources.
If you are unable to use email, you may submit a complaint in writing to our registered office address above, marked for the attention of the Complaints Team. We recommend including your contact details so we can acknowledge receipt and follow up. Anonymous complaints are accepted but may limit our ability to investigate fully. All correspondence is treated confidentially.
What happens after I submit a complaint?
We acknowledge receipt of every complaint within two business days. The complaint is assigned to an editor who reviews the material against our Editorial Policy, Fact-Checking Policy, and Corrections Policy. If the complaint concerns a specific article, the named writer and editor are consulted.
Within ten business days you will receive a substantive response. This response will state whether the complaint is upheld, partially upheld, or not upheld, and explain the reasoning. If we identify an error, we will issue a correction or clarification in line with our corrections policy and update the article accordingly. If the complaint requires more time, we will inform you of the delay and provide a revised timeline.
How can I escalate a complaint if I am not satisfied?
If you are dissatisfied with the initial response, you may escalate the matter directly to Benjamin Richter, Chefredaktör, by emailing anders.lindqvist@wochenbriefing.de or calling +46 8 525 030 61. Please quote your original complaint reference number and explain why you believe the response was inadequate.
Benjamin Richter will personally review the case, including all correspondence and editorial decisions. He will issue a final decision within a further ten business days. This decision is the end of our internal complaints process. No external ombudsman or press council currently oversees Wochenbriefing, but we remain committed to resolving disputes fairly. For legal matters, you may contact us via our Contact page or our legal department at legal@wochenbriefing.de.
What is covered by this procedure?
This procedure covers factual inaccuracies, breaches of editorial standards, violations of our Privacy Policy, and any content that may be defamatory, misleading, or otherwise harmful. It does not cover disagreements with editorial opinion or commentary that is clearly labelled as analysis or opinion.
Complaints about sponsored content, affiliate links, or advertising should be directed through the relevant channels listed on our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure page. For takedown requests related to copyright, please see our Copyright and Takedown Policy.
