Who owns and operates Wochenbriefing?
Wochenbriefing is owned and operated by Wochenbriefi Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), with its registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. The company was founded in 2024 and is independent of any political party, government, or corporate parent. Full ownership and funding details are available on our ownership and funding page.
The publication is led by Chefredaktör Benjamin Richter (anders.lindqvist@wochenbriefing.de, +46 8 525 030 61), who is responsible for all editorial standards, publication decisions and corrections. Editorial oversight is exercised by a team of named editors and reporters; no external investor or commercial partner has influence over editorial content. The company maintains a clear separation between its commercial operations, handled through the Malta office, and its editorial newsroom in Sweden.
How is our journalism funded?
Wochenbriefing is funded through a mix of display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. Sponsored or commercial material is always clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed in accordance with applicable regulations. Our detailed sponsored content policy governs how such material is produced and labelled.
Display advertising appears on our website and in our newsletters. Commercial partnerships include branded content that is produced under the same editorial standards as our regular journalism, as long as it is clearly identified as sponsored. We do not accept native advertising that attempts to disguise commercial messaging as independent reporting. Content licensing revenues come from third-party publications that republish our work with attribution.
What are affiliate links and how do we use them?
Affiliate links are links to products or services that may earn Wochenbriefing a commission if a reader clicks and makes a purchase. We use them exclusively in contexts where the link is editorially justified – for example, when referencing a book, software tool, or relevant product in a review or news article. All affiliate links are clearly disclosed at the point of use, typically with a note reading “affiliate link” or similar.
Our editorial team selects affiliate references based on editorial merit, not commercial incentive. No advertiser or partner can pay for placement within our articles, and affiliate revenue has no bearing on editorial conclusions. Further information about our separation of editorial and commercial decision-making is in our editorial policy.
How do we maintain editorial independence from advertisers?
Commercial relationships – whether display advertising, sponsorship, or affiliate partnerships – never determine editorial conclusions. Chefredaktör Benjamin Richter and the editorial team retain full control over all content published under the Wochenbriefing name. No advertiser or partner is granted advance access to stories, and no story is withheld or altered to suit a commercial interest.
Our editorial team includes a dedicated fact-checking department led by Vanessa Engels (Ansvarig för faktagranskning), and all articles are reviewed by an editor before publication. Sponsored or commercial content is produced in accordance with our sponsored content policy, which requires explicit labelling and prevents editorial staff from contributing to sponsored material without transparent disclosure. Representatives of advertisers or commercial partners do not sit on the editorial board.
How can I advertise or partner with Wochenbriefing?
Inquiries about display advertising, sponsorship opportunities, commercial partnerships, and content licensing should be directed to advertising@wochenbriefing.de. For partnership proposals, including co-branded content or joint initiatives, write to partnerships@wochenbriefing.de. Our commercial team handles all negotiations separately from the newsroom.
We offer a range of advertising formats including display banners, newsletter sponsorships, and sponsored articles under our sponsored content policy. All commercial content is clearly marked to distinguish it from editorial material. Rates and availability are provided on request. We do not accept advertisements that are misleading, harmful, or incompatible with our journalistic values.
